Tuppers' Drinking in the Culture

Maryland residents, Bob and Ellie Tupper are longtime observers of the good beer scene in the Washington, D.C. area (beginning in the 1980s, when there was not much of one) and of European beer.

Having tasted in excess of thirty-five thousand beers, and having kept notes on them, the husband-and-wife duo have written a book, to be self-published in April of 2015.

Drinking In the Culture: Tuppers' Guide to Exploring Great Beers in Europe.

Here is how Bob Tupper describes the book:

"Ellie and I have been to twenty-four European cities, tasting great beers. Ours will not be a guide that will take you to every pub in those cities. There are really good guides that do that, but what in the world are you going to do with a book on London that lists twelve-hundred pubs, and you've got three days? So, in each of these cities, we give you our top six pubs to visit. We talk about the culture, the history of the city, and how that affects the beer in the city. Twenty-four cities; a six-pack in each; plus a day trip. We don't think anyone has quite done that before."
