Mask From Sonora Mexico

This mask comes from the state of Sonora in northern Mexico. It may be of Yaqui or Mayo origin. I think it is a chapayeka (Fariseo) mask that would be worn by participants in Semana Santa (Holy Week) ceremonies. Exhibited at the Museo de Arte Popular in Mexico City
