B-29 Bomber
Patrick and I had the opportunity to complete 2 dives on the B-29 bomber that crashed and sunk in Lake Mead in 1948. Our adventure was expertly coordinated and lead by Joel Silverstein and John Fuller. The dives had to be done by permit from the National Park Service with Joel's guidance. The plane has been well over 200 feet deep, but the recent drop in the Lake water levels made it possible for us to dive at about 110 feet.
We drove out to Lake Mead, stayed at the Dam Lodge and dove off a pontoon boat. This was my first fresh water dive, and what an amazing experience it was!
