La Habana Coche Moskvich #01-4279.jpg

When the center of a city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is also effectively a paradise for artists, photographers and the like. This city of 2.1 million population delivers culture, architecture, history, visual arts, performing arts and commerce like no other place I've been to. I took my complex planar shooting style to the streets of Havana recently, only to discover depths of richness in this mysterious land which infused unexpected dimensionality to my visions. Here is a sample of this journey.

      A moving painting.

Thanks for your comment, but I'm not sure if you meant the image looks like a painting that moves you? When I took the shot, I definitely had to make a quick decision where to place the moving horse carriage when I saw it galloping down the street.

Sorry, looks like my draft got published. Anyway, The car really looks like a painting, especially since your picture is so sharp we can distinguish the finer details of the brushwork. And the light reminded me of some Canaletto painting. I wanted to wrap it up as "a moving (car) painting" but my english wasn't up to the task. ;)

Thanks for teaching me something today, now I know Автомобиль Москвич was a car brand from Russia located outside of Moscow.

ah... now I understand. Thanks for taking the time to explain :)

I don't dare to claim that my image has the quality of the Italian master Canaletto, but you're right the lighting condition does give rise to the painterly "Local Color" feel on the car surface. Thanks for noticing!

The car is a lot older than the horse. And the horse probably moves faster too at this point in their existence. Clever shot!
