Increasingly I've been trying to travel with a lighter, smaller kit when I go on more lengthy trips. The Sony A6000 really shines in this regard, and makes for a fantastic little travel camera.
I'm using it with the following lenses:
* 16-70mm f/4 (SEL1670Z)
* 20mm f/2.8 (SEL20F28)
* 35mm f/1.8 (SEL35F18)
* Rokinon/Samyang 12mm f/2.0
Thus far I'm really pleased with this setup. It's small, and covers a wide focal length range, with fast enough primes, and a superb sensor in the A6000.
What's more is that the entire kit (camera and lenses) comes in under 1.2 kg! Compare that with just my D800 + 24-120mm f/4, which weigh around 1.6 kg!
My one real problem with the A6000 is that it chews through batteries, so I bring 9 with me when I travel!
The Lowepro Photo Hatchback 16L AW backpack makes for an excellent mirrorless travel bag. Unfortunately it doesn't come with that tripod attachment - I had to ask my lovely wife to sew on the attachment for it.
The Sirui T-1205X tripod is excellent for these small, mirrorless cameras. It's quite stable for its size, and very light!
I'm heading to India for a short bit - I suppose that will be the ultimate test of this kit. Hopefully all goes well!
