Edgar Allan Poe
Bust in the garden at Edgar Allan Poe Museum. Not exactly a huge place, but a few interesting artifacts -- His desk, chair, some writings, childhood bed, etc.
After his mother died, Poe was taken in by the Allan family, which would become one Richmond's wealthiest families. He later became estranged from the Allan's, but did live for more time in Richmond than in any other city. The museum is located near where Poe worked when he was editor of the Southern Literary Messenger.
