My mother told me that if i took home these leaves & stems and just put them in water, they would eventually spring forth roots and then i could transplant them to soil and would grow into whatever it was they are...???

So— It's been about a week now, and i don't see any sign of roots coming out of the stem ends...

But they're not drying out either...

But But; They are beginning to look a little sickly...???
