      What a bizarre turtle! I presume that's water weed on its head. I saw freshwater turtles in Queensland in the crater lakes up in the Atherton Tablelands, but I'm guessing they weren't this species.

      This is the endangered Mary River Turtle with a nice amount of algae growing on her head. This little girl is wild, living in the soon to be dammed Mary River, the only river where they are found.
