Stranger #6 - Domenico
Just a few minutes after meeting #5, I saw this gentleman standing still in the middle of the pedestrian zone, only accompanied by his dog. Meet my stranger #6, Domenico! He told me the name of his dog as well, but I can't remember it :)
I approached quickly this time and asked if he spoke German, but the answer was simply "English?"
Even easier for me, since all the phrasings that you can read from other stranger-hunting-people in this group are in English.
With him, I probably had the longest conversation ever with someone I didn't know just seconds ago. I told him that I was a photographer and doing this project and that I would like to take a picture of him. He thought about it a bit, but happily agreed in the end. I wanted the background to be slighty colorful, so I asked him to turn around. I took a couple of shots and showed him the best one. I think he liked it because after I gave him my card, he shook my hand and said "see you".
Yet I didn't want to walk away already, so I started a conversation anyway :) He is from Italy and staying in Munich for a couple of days. After that, he wants to go to Salzburg with his wife and his son (and his dog) and then back to Italy travelling through Venice as well.
I told him that I live here in Munich and study engineering. As it came out, he is an engineer too, but a civil engineer, so he is involved with buildings.
He was very open and spoke a lot about his wife. She was shopping somewhere and so he was waiting for her to come back. We had a laugh when I told him, that I was waiting for my girlfriend as well (who actually was inside the shop you can see in the background with the green lighting), and hence had time to bother strangers for my project :)
When his wife came back, they all said hello and looked interested what I was doing there. But I felt it was time to go and respectfully walked away thanking him again.
Thank you, Domenico, for being my sixth stranger, I hope you like the picture and still have some sunny days ahead in Germany. If you want the full resolution, just contact me.
