Pictured at 13, Jacob was alone. His parents had died, most likely from HIV related illnesses and his sisters who were caring for him left to get married.
With no other options, Jacob taught himself how to repair car tyres so that he could earn enough money for food. The mosquito net he received as part of ADDS’s orphans and vulnerable children programme has been vital to keeping him healthy.
