This bumblebee was so lethargic after a very cool night and still-cool morning. At first when I was taking pictures, I thought it was dead. To be sure, I VERY lightly touched its thorax and was rewarded with a swift upthrust of all its legs. Nothing more aggressive than that, but it was enough to let me know it was alive. I snapped shots of the crickets and yellowjackets for a bit, then I returned to the bumblebee to find it moving. The sunlight had landed upon the bee's bed of goldenrod blooms and had stirred it back to life.
