Rift Zone Stream, Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, Iceland
Þingvellir is odd. The place is full of stunning beauty and scenic views. It is a national park to protect this but oddly it's the site of the first legislative assembly of Iceland. People would come here to study, create and uphold the law of the land. On the aesthetic front the area is littered with cracks and faults. The geographic landforms traverse the region and have filled up with water from the areas natural springs. It was perhaps the clearest water I've ever seen. I wanted to jump in but I think it would have been a little chilly. Nothing a little Icelandic 'Gull' beer couldn't remedy.
I took this photo with 3 exposures (-2,0, 2) I used some Lucis Pro which I get into detail below as well as the usual photoshop.
TIP - Some people have asked me about how to make their photos pop. Well that's like my ultimate holy grail... i'm still searching for methods on how to do that. One method is to purchase Lucis Pro. I can't say the price is justified but whatever math genius invented that algorithm has made a little bit of money. It does a great job in terms of clarity/definition and isn't limited to darks and lights... it does just as well on colors. When I struggle to bring an area in focus I always look to Lucis Pro. It also does wonders on picking up reflections and colors in water.
