I got some cheap macro extension tubes from DealExtreme recently, for a bit of macro fun.

Here's one of my first macro shots, my iPhone, which has been close at hand recently while I have been doing some iPhone app development for a client.

This was taken with the thinnest extension tube, about 8mm, and the EF 50mm f/1.8 II.

RoGoBliss, Sam Ilić, JorgeGn, and 7 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Very shallow depth with those tubes aye.

P.S. You have facebook messages that need attending.

@Steve Kay: yeah DoF is insane, but happy with the magnification for such a cheap accessory.

I wonder what this facebook thing is all about...

Apparently this face-book thing is a video of a guy getting smacked in the face with each letter of the alphabet of the Encyclopedia Britanica. It's a wikipedia stunt that has gotten out of hand.

Very nice mate, insanely shallow depth of field - will make for some fun experiments :)

@crafterm: thanks mate - stay tuned for more crazy extension tube experiments

Get yourself a LED torch to light up your subject. Then close up the aperture to get some deeper DoF

aha, now that you have tubes watch out cause soon enough you'll be getting a sore back, your hand will hurt and you wont be able to stop :)

Seen on your photo stream. (?)
