Lindis Pass

    Newer Older

I got this shot while driving back to Wanaka from Twizel. Although I was wanting to get some shots of Lindis Pass on this trip I wasn't too hopeful given I was passing through at midday.

But thanks to some gaps in the thick clouds the sun managed to break through and create a bit of drama, for a few minutes anyway.

No group invites or glittery graphics, thanks.

beautiful lighting - those earthen colours on the hills look fantastic - as well as that small puff of cloud in the valley

I like how that white road weaves through the hills... a nice visual path, and that little misty cloud is great! - although kinda unusual for midday? ...which makes me think... smoke canisters would be a great tool for adding drama to landscapes : )

yeah that little bit of low cloud is weird - I didn't even notice it while I was there and only saw it when I downloaded the photo back home!

breathtaking!! we were driving this same road a few years ago, but I didn't manage to get a good shot I think... anyway I had a film camera back then, who knows when I'll go back and look at those photos.

I love shots of winding roads through mountains. Very underrated I feel! This is one of the better ones, esp. the light coming through the clouds.

Spectacular landscape, I think I will have to plan a trip back down there. Great light and clouds.

The light, the shadow, the sunbeams, and that mist in the middle all work to make this a stunner of an image, Chris.
