Treacherous Crossing

Heading out for a late-night walk to the harbourfront in Nagasaki.

The streetcar seen here rounds a bend that is rather close to the pedestrian crossing. But then, the surrounding Edo-period streets don't leave much room for public transit.

(The Dutch trading post, Dejima, operating from 1641 can still be seen in all its historic glory during the day off-frame behind Mariko.)

R.I.P. M.J. One of his best.
