Betty Blythe 1893 - 1972

I was given this ad card by a friend, I had never heard of Betty Blythe, so I did some research, she was quite a star in her day. But now demoted to a "Fine Food Pantry" ad postcard. She was an American actress best known for her dramatic roles in exotic silent films such as "The Queen of Sheba" 1921, which was her biggest hit. She said of that film " I had 28 costumes in that picture, and if I'd worn them all at once I couldn't have kept warm". With the exception of "She" (1925) all her major silent films are considered lost, with only stills as evidence of their censorship challenging raciness.
