The Young Army - Poole, 1925

A newspaper cutting was sent to me in 2003, it was out of the Bournemouth Echo, Dorset, England. A very poor image, we were told that the 3 girls on left hand side were the Allen sisters and that one of them was my hubby's Mum. I put it to one side and completely forgot about it, finding it the other day, I went about trying to find the original owner, and if I could get a copy of the original pic. Having been in touch with the Bournemouth Echo, they only had an email address. Having got in touch with the person concerned, she is a lovely woman, her father is on the photo, she is trying to find out a bit more about it. Her daughter has touched up the photo so it is much better condition than what it was. She thinks her father looks about 9 or 10 here, he was born in 1917, so we are guessing it is about 1925. If so my mother in law would be 6 so that could be her sat down, but she had 4 sisters before her, so we still don't know, but there is a resemblance. This will be the only photo that we have of her as a child! The next pic on my photostream is of Beryl, can anyone see a resemblance? From the newspaper cutting that I have I can make out a few names (Scrimp) Penney, Charlie Garnham, and just the surname Holloway, you never know maybe somebody will recognize the boys.
