Thank you for the inspiration. I have almost finished my blocks and have been struggling on how to quilt this beast and you have almost inspired me to tackle hand quilting.

hehe! It's not as bad as you might think, honestly! And you can do it in front of the telly :-)

Lovely inspiriation! I was thinking about hand-quilting my swoon quilt on the blocks - and seeing your blocks may just inspire me to do so!

thanks! It really didn't take that long at all, and was lovely to do in front of the telly. Give it a go on one block maybe, and if you hate it you can always unpick it :-D

I absolutely love this. How did you baste this for your hand quilting? - just curious :)

thanks! I spray basted - I hate pinning and I am WAY too lazy to thread baste!

Really how did you spray baste a quilt this big?! I've only ever done a very small one. Which spray?

I laid out the sandwich (with the backing taped to the floor) and then pulled back half the top and basted in 12 inch widths from the centre outwards. I used 505. It worked fine and held up perfectly throughout hand quilting. I've had quite a lot of practice spray basting, so I find it much easier than anything else.

Thanks so much for that - I feel extremely tempted to copy you with my Swoon. It is so huge it would not be fun to quilt on my home machine, and I love the look of yours. :)
