Thrills, Spills and Pills
When I was a kid, I was sick for about one year with a deadly kidney infection. I was in the hospital for many months, and a lot of that time was in the intensive care. The life revolved around taking more than 20 pills a day, in addition to very painful intravenous medications. Being surrounded by patients all of who were fighting to survive, and many were not that lucky, has left a very deep impact on my psyche.
Medicines saved my life, like they have done more and more effectively for humanity. And at the same time, they are a part of my nightmares. They are also despised globally for the side-effects.
