Kokeshi dolls - (from left to right) Ame Agari, Hohoemi, Kosode, Yuzuru and Izumino

As my wife's Kokeshi doll collection has grown with two dolls the last two days, I thought it was time for a new family shot.

About the photo (for the photo nerds):

This was taken on our dining-table, with the dolls backlit by the window in the background. A silver reflector was beneath the camera to bounce some light into the dolls' faces. Shot with the 50mm wide open @ f/1.4, so the DOF was quite shallow.

These dolls are adorable; if I'm ever in Japan I'll need to attain one of these.

We've never been to Japan either, but my wife really loves these dolls. We've bought them over the web from Japan and the US.
