89/365 - Crumbling
I can fully understand that spending so many hours there may make it difficult to see its beauty, but then again beauty is different for everyone. If your dear library were a person it would want someone to see past its crumbling exterior and into its heart. And what a mighty heart it has!
These words, my love sent them to me two years ago, when the library was still located in the aisle of the building that is currently being renovated. I treasure them because that's how our story started. Since then we moved temporarily to another aisle of the building that is also in poor condition. A huge net has been rigged over the monumental staircase to keep us safe from possible bits of ceiling collapsing over us.
But last Friday, it was the ceiling of an auxiliary staircase that partly fell apart. Another opportunity for me to contribute to the Flickr group "Librarians in hardhats"!
This was Day 89 and I love to wear my blue helmet!
