Jungle Pug

    It's about time I posted a photo of Pugsly. I haven't posted anything of him for ages because I'm always just doing 52 weeks photos. I've realized Pugsly absolutely LOVES photo shoots. I'm always trying to take photos of Champ for 52 weeks and I see Pugsly off the side trying to earn a treat as well. Before I took this photo, I was taking photos of Champ for 52 weeks and then I saw Pugsly putting his head in the plants and peeking through. The other week when I was taking red carpet photos of Champ, Pugsly tried joining him and smiling for the camera on the red carpet several times as well, lol. He's catching on on how to pose to get treats, haha. After photo shoots he just seems happier.

    Now on a more serious note, Pugsly is losing his vision. Especially in his left eye. He went to the vet and she confirmed he doesn't have cataracts, glaucoma, or anything she can see that is wrong with his eyes other than his symptoms he is having. So therefore it may either be a brain problem where something just isn't "connecting" right with his vision, or he may have a retina issue. Please keep him in your thoughts. It's sad to see him not able to fetch as well as he used to. :( He will be going to the opthamologist soon for additional tests.

      he is so adorable. i love all those wrinkles. i hope you get the vision thing figured out. my family's old man dog has lost a lot of vision in the last year, but he's adapted well. maybe you could find Pugsly some kind of noisy ball to play fetch with?

      I love his sweet expression. So adorable that he's trying to get involved in Champ's photo shoots too, blless him. Sorry to hear about his vision. Dogs do adjust pretty well to losing their sight but it's still sad to see them in that position. Keep us updated on the little guy.

      Adorable shot!! How old is he... could it be just plain old, old age? Either way, good luck with him. He's a cutie! Congrats on Explore!

      Jody Trappe No, not old age - he's only tuning 8 in september. So still very young - but he's had his fair share of health problems since he was a pup. and if it's Progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), which is what I suspect, this usually appears at a young age.

      Thanks guys, will keep you updated.

      What a sweet face. Hope his vision loss does not continue. But either way, he is well-loved...

      My wife and I feel for you and Pugsy. Our Riley went blind in one eye at the age of 13;
      our Ceili had double cataract surgery at the age of 1.
      He is so beautiful. Makes my heart hurt to look at him.
      May God bless you.
