Is this free standing? I'm not stalking you - just your cutting table! I went to IKEA last week and checked it out. I really want to buy it. We put bamboo flooring and it's beautiful but softer than some wood. I think I may have to put something under the legs so the floor doesn't get scratched. Did you have this issue?

It is freestanding. The floor would only get scratched if the unit moved, wouldn't it? And this unit will not move, it is HEAVY!!!

I just asked because it looks like it's up against the doors in the back. Thanks!

THere's about a metre - room to open up the doors fully. Got to get to the fabric!!

Wow, is there fabric behind those doors? If I get this unit that's probably what I'll have to do too. One side of it would have to be close to a wall or doors, etc. I am little worried about the weight. Otherwise I love it!!

Wow looks awesome! I have to admit that my craft stuff look a lot like yours! But I also have equal amount of yarn - and also machinery! Also, I went to your blog and read that you have bamboo flooring as well. DId you find that it got bruised at all from a heavy table such as the Varde? Maybe I should just put something under the legs to prevent any damage to the floors. I have bamboo that is the slightly darker shade - honey.

I got the Varde table today!!! My husband got it for me for my birthday. I hope it's not too hard to build. I am also worried about the new bamboo flooring - will have to look into what to put under the legs. Once it's set, I am hoping it stays put but as we build, I have have to do a little moving around. But I am super excited to get this set up!
