Sunken City

Closed to the public and fenced off this area is one of the geological mysteries and has been featured in many studies and books. In 1929, a sizeable section of land in San Pedro, CA began to unexplainably fall into the Pacific Ocean. Movement was measured as high as 11 inches a day until the mid 1930s. All but two houses were saved before toppling into the ocean.

On November 20th, 2011 another portion of San Pedro, CA fell into the ocean.
