2009 AIGA BoNE Show
The 2009 AIGA BoNE Show
Boston, MA
Bakalar Gallery, Mass College of Art
June 11–July 8, 2009

The BoNE (Best Of New England) Show is a biennial regional design competition and fundraiser. This event benefits the Boston chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design.

The 2009 BoNE Show was a celebration of exceptional design created during 2007 and 2008—it showcased 49 winning works by 35 designers—and the New England design community as a whole.

Every aspect of the show was designed with environmental sustainability in mind: call-for-entries were distributed online; the show catalog used half the paper as previous years; the framing and shelving display system was constructed from wood shipping pallets found in Boston and Cambridge; the walls and "green room" furniture (also salvaged locally) were painted with all-natural environment-friendly milk paint; the exhibit graphics were either printed on recycled-content paper with a digital inkjet printer (uv-cured), or painted by hand on reclaimed cardboard; non-toxic water-soluble adhesives and mechanical fasteners were used; the majority of supplies (notably printing and paint) came from local vendors; all materials used were recycled or re-purposed after the show or they are awaiting their next showing when the winning design works travel around New England via BoNE on the Road.

Exhibit design by Christine Lefebvre and BoNE Show Co-Directors Brandon Bird and Jeff Stammen, with a lot of help from a lot of amazing people.
