This is our new puppy. She's a chocolate and tan mini dachshund. Her birthday is September 13, so she turned six weeks old yesterday.
She makes baby noises, hops around, and is generally magnificent on a stellar level. She is a bit afraid of the camera right now—it's as big as she.
I'll be busy this week, but will return with better photos and some videos. I don't think I'll turn into one of those flickrites who posts nothing but his or her pets, but it will be hard to resist photographing this sweetheart.
Last night was our first together. She slept in our bed on her pillow between Lindsey and I. Four hours of deep sleeping, a trip outside to poop, and then another three hours. She is very smart and already knows how to let us understand that she needs to go outside.
It's been twenty years since I've had a puppy (Gig), and he was an outside dog. It's amazing what kind of love I can have for this tiny, warm ball. People without pets don't know what they're missing.
Oh, and, she needs a name! What do you think she looks like? Maybe a pretty German name? Any suggestion is welcome.
