Niya نىيە / Minfeng 民丰 is a small town on the southern rim of the Taklamakan Desert, 294 km east of Hotan خوتەن 和田, in the Xinjiang شىنجاڭ 新疆 Uyghur Autonomous Region in northwest China, near the junction of east-west Highway 315 from Kashgar قەشقەر 喀什 (815 km) and the north-south Tarim Highway to Korla (751 km).

90 km north is the historically famous shrine, Mazar Imam Jafar Sadiq, known as the 'Mecca of Turkestan, but little visited today.
