An ancient map of the Mesopotamian world is apparently the oldest known map of the world (now exhibited in British Museum, www.britishmuseum.org/explore/highlights/highlight_object...

    It is now rather well established that the Messopotamians did not interact with anything "mythical". Rather, they dutifully recorded their encounters with non-human beings, aka aliens.
