Tom Dunn & Family

I recently aquired this photograph from a seller online. The print was most likey used in newspaper printing, and is like a proof.

The back of the photo is dated Jan 12 1944, and reads: "National league Umpire Tom Dunn and his wife and two-year-old daughter Bette. Tom leaves for Florida Feb. 10, for spring training. Mrs. Dunn and daughter will accompany dad for a month to Florida."

The photo is also hand-signed, "Mr. + Mrs. Tom Dunn & Bette," altough who actually signed it is unclear. The location is most likely their home in Fitchburg, Mass. The 1944 season would be Tom's last as a pro umpire, and he would have the good fortune of working as one of the umpires for the World Series that year.
