Southern Tree HDR

    Prev Next

This was done in HDR style, but accomplished with post processing. I used several layers of the same pic to achieve this, from over to under exposed, but I didn't TAKE three separate photos. I also added the Orton-like filter to soften it, and add depth, plus sharpening and adjusting contrast along the way. All in all, I like the effect. It became moody, which is what I wanted.

Spanish Moss seems to be making a comeback in Central Florida. Our larger trees, like oaks, are draped with these air plants. It is a particularly southern decoration of nature, and you won't find it in northern states. There is a grace and softness to Spanish Moss that brings a sense of nostalgia and charm to the area.
