soul of an orchid
I intended to visit the Los Angeles County Arboretum yesterday, and I did eventually get there, although not before making a very big detour. I woke up yesterday to find that I could not connect to the Internet for the second time in a week. My ISP's tech support determined that my modem had died, and they would ship a new one to me to arrive in three to five business days. Ack! Fortunately, their office was open on Sunday, and they were happy to hand me the new modem instead of shipping it, but it did add 60 miles to my planned 80-mile round trip to the Arboretum. :)
By the time I reached the Arboretum, the wind was starting to become an issue for macro photography. That was OK, as I love the Arboretum's greenhouses. This cattleya was in the orchid greenhouse, and I went to the maximum aperture of my lens for an intentionally romantic capture. I hope you like my interpretation of this flower! (Zuiko 50mm macro, f/2, 1/2500 sec., ISO 200, afternoon sun filtered through greenhouse roof, handheld)
