November 4, 2010: This photo won 1st place in the contest. P is For..." (entered as "Pendants of Water") #9, Buds & Blossoms" in the group Prestige Nature. I am honored, thank you!

Discovered while exploring my favorite patch of cosmos flowers at South Coast Botanic Garden last Sunday. The drops were left from the early morning watering, and they stayed for a while because of morning fog. As I explored, being careful not to dislodge any of the drops, I came upon this trio of droplets refracting a single distant picotee cosmos blossom and giving the impression of an inverted garden. (Zuiko 50mm macro, f/5.6, 1/125 sec., ISO 400, overcast/fog, handheld)

In the new Flickr, click anywhere in the image to see the large view on black (worth it for the refracted images!) -- or press "L" to "view in light box" (same thing).
