Impressions of Patagonia #2 - Lago Grey, Chili
Technical: Nikon D3x + CPL, 1/40s at f8, 200mm
I wanted to come back from my trip with photographs of blue ice, be it abstract or more classic. However, never in my wildest dreams did I believe that blue ice could produce such astounding colors without the help of processing or use of filters of some sort.
I discovered a true fascination for ice (especially blue), it is just crazy beautiful. I felt like a kid at the counter of some dream candy store. It was difficult to concentrate because I was seeing this for the first time and was just speechless.
This is an abstract of an iceberg on Lago Grey in Torres del Paine National Park taken during a boat cruise. The frame probably represents an ice section about 3m high. The blues are just glowing thanks to a cooperative sun (that day at least).
I hope to have the opportunity to take this type of shot again, meanwhile I have this and a couple of others.
Please take the time to leave a comment, always appreciated.
