Un peu flou...a little blurry...because of the 3 exposures. 3 expositions.

Alk is= this is HDR treament with the software Photomatix. You can find out more about HDR here thanks to a wonderful flickr photograph who's shared his knowledge
You can make it with a single RAW file for subject in movement or with 3 or more exposures and a tripod (which looks better). The tutorial is really well done.

this is great, im trying to wrap my head around HDR portraits. could you give me any tips? i have been asked to do a HDR portrait for someone. I dont know what im doing wrong really. im taking them in RAW, from that im extracting 3 exposures (-2, 0 and 2) in photoshop cs3 then loading them into photomatix to generate my HDR but they just look dirty and the shading is too block like. what kind of tone mapping settings do you use?
any reply would be much appreciated xxx

Dear jodie gabrielle, the tone mapping here has been generated with photomatix but the pic was taken in 3 exposures from the camera (not a single raw) with a tripod. it's not my best one. it's difficult to make a good portrait with 3 pics because we always move and even in one second you can't but grab the imperceptible move of the head. So I discovered Lucis Art. Now I take my single raw and make the hdr and mapping with Lucis. It's a plugin for photoshop, you're going to love it! Anyway the best hdr here on flickr are made with photomatix and photoshop (multiples layers). They work a lot of hours on the photo until they have removed the shadows...if you have time ;-) Whatever, Have fun and take care !
