Motorola Sponsored Project
Product Design and Advertising Design students at the College for Creative Studies (CCS) spent the fall semester developing innovative wireless communications solutions for Motorola through an ongoing relationship with the company.
Throughout the 15-week project, Product Design students developed product concepts for key emerging markets including China, India, Africa, South America and Indonesia. The student-designed solutions build on cultural, social, and regional behaviors and values and took into consideration the reusability or end-of-life for the product. The students received continuous input and critique from Motorola design team members and also visited the company’s design facility.
Also as part of the project, CCS Advertising Design students worked with the Product Design students to consider the actual user experience for the communications solution and develop holistic advertising campaigns to bring the given product to market.
