Carn Liath Broch

Panorama of the Carn Liath Broch between Brora and Golspie - just off the A9, about 40 miles North of Inverness.

2000 years old.

The Broch is an Iron Age round tower fortification type unique to Scotland, and in particular the Highlands and Islands.

This Broch would have orginally stood 15 m high.

I lived near a Broch in Shetland as a kid - it was our Gang Hut.
