Matchbox Flower Class Corvette

In 1979, UK based "Matchbox Models" did something pretty amazing; they kitted a WW2 Flower Class Corvette in the astonishing large scale of 1/72. I am not aware of any previous kit for a ship of this size in that scale made for the mass-produced plastic model market, and there have been very few since. I "discovered" the Matchbox Corvette in the mid 1980's and really wanted it bad, but the price tag of $75 was a pretty steep bill in those days. Years later I did acquire one in a pawn shop, built it and had a great time with it. That model was badly damaged in a move a few years back. Anyway.....Ebay to the rescue. Check this 1986 vintage and complete with original box art!
