Christmas Cliché

Week 44, Assignment 2 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.

Deck the Halls. Make an image of a homemade Christmas Decoration Cliché. Don’t use a store bought one, someone else may own the copyright! I’ll name the most cliché, but don’t feel that rules it out – Holly! What else can you show us that people generally associate with Xmas decorations?

What is more cliché when it comes to Christmas Decorations than the lights. Sure, they themselves aren't homemade, but what you do with them is.

I had a lot of fun taking these shots, but I have to say that the lights themselves get pretty damn hot......painfully so, but I am really liking the shots I got so it was worth the pain. I think I'm going to have some fun with these lights over the next month or so.

Normally I wouldn't have started with the lights until at least after Thanksgiving, but Dave chose the assignment for this week so out they came.

Why is it that no matter how carefully you put them away that when you pull them out a year later they are always a tangled mess?

I took a bunch for this assignment which can be seen here:

    Illuminating
It's The Same Thing Every Year
    Knot Going Well
    Enough Of This
    Ball Of Light

Wow, this shot got posted in an article over at the Digital Photography School Blog.

      @ everyone, Thanks!

Yeah, but without a battery pack, my mobility is severely limited. I could just get a really really really really long extension cord though.

As long as you give m the photo credit on the blog like you did on your Flickr Page, I'm cool with it.

nicely lit - the black background really makes it. Thanks for using a CC license - I've used and linked to this image on my blog's advent calendar, hope that's ok!
