Flute Detail

Last Saturday I went to a Flute Circle at the Dorothy Ramon Learning Center. While I was there I saw this hand-made, Anasazi-style flute. The designs are cut into the wood and then burned with an iron. The turquoise bands and spiral design are crushed turquoise rock mixed with epoxy and spread into the cuts. After all the carving and sanding is done, the flute is finished with tung oil. I'm not sure who made this flute, but I thought the workmanship was outstanding.
