Second Silk Study: fuller view

Pattern: improvisational strips pieced from scraps as I made this quilt

Materials: 100 silk neckties (same ones as in this quilt), sheerweight interfacing (for border), black Kona cotton, brocade remnants, Moda muslin (for foundation piecing)

Techniques: machine-pieced, foundation-pieced in strips on muslin

Current size: 62" wide, 70" long

Started: April 2008

Finished: ???

Umm, it's upside down in this photo but I was too lazy to turn it around.

Using fabrics from these same ties, there will likely be two more tops. I hope to use them to learn and study even more new-to-me techniques.
