Fair Isle Mittens
My first attempt at fair isle - which in some respects was working out better than I expected, but I hit two major snags: 1) my guage is off; and 2) I'm having a terrible time with the tension between needles - on the edges of the mitten. I've given up on the idea of giving these to Stephanie for Christmas. After Christmas I'll finish them off and maybe use them myself. It'll be a dry run for the next pair - which hopefully will work out better! The pattern is White Witch Mitts by Laura Rintala and is free from Interweave. The yarn is undyed Blue Sky Alpaca in four shades and is unbelievably soft.
