Jamie Burns-for The Daily Campus

So this last wednesday I was told I would be getting a portrait shoot with Jamie Burns, an SMU cheerleader recently in the news after being told that she is no longer allowed to pick up her feet while cheering because she has a pacemaker. I was fairly excited, because, well, it was a portrait shoot and we weren't just going and pulling a stock photo. Anyhow, the day of the shoot comes around, and I find out I will have literally 30 seconds to shoot the photo. So I go up in to the newspaper office and get my lights set up while the interview is taking place downstairs. She comes up, sits, and we manage to get about three minutes out of her, which was rather nice. This isn't the version that ran in the paper, however, the background has been replaced in post to make it more even, contrast has been boosted in some areas, etc.

430EX into 45" shoot through umbrella directly above camera.

285HV into wall, which has now been removed.
