'Wyvern' Attack VTOL

Newer Older

A fast and stealthy assault VTOL used extensively by NATO forces during the winter campaigns in Orthodox New Russia.

While the craft incorporates all the standard features of equivalent generation aircraft such as radar absorbent composites and deflective angled plating, the Wyvern's true advantage lies in silence. Using cutting-edge technology, most notably in the counter-rotating smaller turboprop, the Wyvern is able to effectively ambush and assault enemy forces.

Inspiration from flyingdebris.

Won 2nd Place in the Stealth category for the annual military contest.
Won Best Aircraft at BrickWorld 2010

Not sure if I love the overall shape or not; what I do have to give you is that it's incredibly unique and original. Dude, also have to hand it to you on those propellers.

When I saw this, I kept thinking Mutalisk. Which is dragon-y, I guess (?)

@ Carter: commented earlier, but I didn't remark on the canopy, which I've recently re-noticed and really like.

    @ scott_melody...
Is that copyright comment as out of the blue as it looks or is there some conversation/comment I'm missing?

Pretty sure that Scott_Melody_Mills* is the kid who was selling ripoff instructions of Jayhurst's "Big Boy" train. Not sure how that relates to Carter's wicked cool helicopter though.

    *Capitals mine.

Indeed, Scott_Melody_Mills was likely commenting here because I'd left a comment on his stream calling him out for ripping off Jayhurst's train. But, since I'm rather fond of the creation posted here and would rather have a discussion of how intellectual property rights work in a different venue, I've gone ahead and deleted Scott's post. I'd welcome him (and any other participants) in the 16+ discussion, or if he feels that's too one-sided, another venue of his choice.

    Anyway! Back on topic.
