Alan Wilkinson (AKODE...live in Rjukan)
Alan Wilkinson on the saxophone since the early 1980s been a central figure on the UK improvisation scene. He has had long collaboration with the legendary Derek Bailey and Peter Brötzmann, and with his regular trio Wilkinson / Edwards / Noble, he shows what eminent saxophonist he really is.
Guitarist Kim Johannesen has been described as a rising star on the Norwegian jazz scene. He already has a price Fiddler nomination in his pocket with the band Speakeasy and Kayak album, but perhaps first and foremost, he recently made his mark as an improviser with a remarkable understanding of style and safety.
Ola Høyer on bass has since graduating from the legendary jazz studies in Trondheim toured Europe in the criss-cross. He is one of the most sought after Bassists in Norway, with a wide range of band that can crawl and walk of interesting and prolific improvisers in Norway and Germany. Through these projects, and extensive solo recitals, he has shown he is a musician with a strong will and ability to go their separate ways.
Dag Erik Andersen Knedal, with his explosive, intense and virtuosic playing style has earned the reputation as an exceptionally creative and original drummer. In 2010 he received the prestigious "Best Talent" at the Molde International Jazz Festival.
The musicians have together or separately worked with the biggest names in improvised music, and has also been found regularly in the major jazz festivals in Norway. In this band, they play free-improvised music from the top shelf, with an energy and spontaneity that should be given to everyone to experience
