Craters of the Moon National Monument--water water water
I saw this scene on my way in the the COTM trail heads, and said to myself, "I will come back and get this later in the day". And I did. And I added 2 hours of travel time to my day, because my GPS was out of range, and I backtracked because I knew that way rather than the other, faster way. So Idaho has lots of teeny back roads with lots of flat areas. Also I managed to bury my trusty Sony RX100 somewhere in the car, so used my default camera.
There is a lot of water underground, and a sign there says as much as is contained in Lake Erie, due to the geology of the area. The white settlers who came here rejoiced! The potatoes, wheat, corn and barley were going to prosper in what looked like a desert!
