Flying fox bat carrying young

Grey-headed flying-foxes (Pteropus poliocephalus) ) routinely carry the young until the young are about 4 weeks old.

The young hold on to mum's nipple with their teeth and to her side with their feet. In this image one can see some light between the pup's leg and mum's body.
