• The blood trail really adds depth, contrast, and story to the image.. I can envision the process of the animal slowly dying. - .username

She hadn't been there long (still warm), and moving her carcass off the road revealed the salty silhouette from passing cars on a winter highway.

A powerful and haunting image. I've been photographing lots of live coyotes this winter in their natural habitat. This serves as a good reminder of how tenuous our thread to the planet really can be, and makes me appreciate and respect the little critters all the more. Oh, and everybody please slow down!

    Excellent !

Et quelle tristesse de voir ces animaux innocents, victimes de conducteurs imbéciles.

Hello, Charlie! My name is Daniela, and I´m working on an exhibition for an NGO called Abeac. We support 1000 dogs rescued from the streets in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Your picture would be the final scene of an important part of the exhibition, that shows the life stray dogs live on the streets. From this scene we would go the rescue and happy endings. Would you authorize us to print that picture? If you would like to know more about us: www.facebook.com/abeac.org (sorry, everything is in portuguese...). Please feel free to write me and ask any questions you´d like - danielacpenna@gmail.com. Thanks a lot, Daniela

Hi Daniela. This photo is a dead coyote, not a dog. Do you still think it's relevant to your exhibition? Thanks. - DJ
