Shooting this was complicated by the water's refraction. The stong, horizontally variable changes in the light's angles as it passed through the glass made most shots look intolerably "weird." (And, yes, technically the angles only change at the boundaries between the media, not throughout each medium.)
This shot launches a dalliance of a project to incorporate this red rope and this green rope into a number of diverse, otherwise unrelated images. This series emulates similarly fanciful inspiration-priming sets of mine: e.g., How You Can Reach Me, (Broken) Symmetries, and my Tea-Light Metaphor Project.
