Canon Demi EE28
Manufactured from 1967 to 1970 by Canon Camera Co. Part of a series of Half-frame 35mm cameras that Canon started in 1963—the EE28 would be the last. As a half-frame, it took 72 “portrait” images on a 36 exposure roll of 35mm film. It had a 28mm f/2.8 Canon lens and a selenium cell controlled automatic exposure (single shutter speed, the aperture was varied by the power generated by the cell). For flash pictures, it had an accessory shoe and an X-sync PC connector and the aperture could be set manually. Focus was set with zones using pictures engraved on the front of the lens (mountain, group of people, something that might be a flower…). Clean and simple in design, it actually had less features than it’s predecessor model, the EE17.
