Rosie The Riveter Built Me
Liberty Ship 'SS Jeremiah O'Brien - Alive and Steaming
Rosie the Riveter became a role model for a generation of women. Never again to be overloked as a major work force, women became the hidden asset of the U.S. war effort. Walk the decks that were created by Rosie and others.
High school students and retirees, black men and women of the south, dust-bowl farmers, experienced shipwrights, new immigrants, women from every walk of life and others made these ships and gave hope and opportunity to millions of survivors of the Great Depression.
The National Liberty Ship Memorial is crewed entirely by Volunteers and is a Registered Historic Landmark.
